Weekend recap......

This weekend was very nice just hanging out with my family. We don't get very many weekends to do this without having to be somewhere so I took full advantage of it. Friday night we took the kids to Mr. T's for supper and then went to get Cooper a new pair of tennis shoes. I am a Nike fan so that is what he got and calls them his "Super Fast Shoes". Yep......wonder if Nike would endorse that saying in their next ad. After we left the mall we went to Menards to get a few supplies. See......we are SLOWLY finishing our basement so that its not such a huge expense all at once. We have an older home that I love but the basement was never finished "properly". I suppose if the previous owners want to throw up some dark paneling for walls and call it finished......welp......then it was finished. To me a finished basement includes sheetrock, nice carpet and INSULATION. Come on people......we live in South Dakota! Concrete walls and floors in basements should not be considered when we have January and February to get through. Anyways.......there is a pole in the smack dab middle of the family room that I just hate because its in the way. So we were off to Menards to get some beams to hold the floors above us up without this stupid pole. I know the picture is small because I took it with my phone but this is the family room before the removal of the pole and finished walls. I will show you the finished product in a couple of weeks when we are finished!
While Craig was working on the pole and the beams......the kids and I were painting........suncatchers that is. Do you remember doing this as a kid? I found them at Walmart and thought it would be a fun snowy day project so here are the kids painting. Again......sorry for the small picture but my camera isn't cooperating with me so I had to use my phone. We had fun painting them and they are so easy to clean up! Yes.......I put my phone down all day and ignored facebook. It was hard but I did it!!! Instead I got some quality face time with my kids. We also watched movies and played games and stayed in jammies for most of the day.
Saturday afternoon Brooklyn had practice at church for a dance she is going to be in next Sunday but that was the only thing we had to go and do. Sunday was spent watching movies and just relaxing. It was a great weekend and I can't wait to have another free weekend to repeat this one!!!

See these faces? They are my adorable children that I love so dearly!!! Lately life has gotten so busy that I have hardly spent any time with them. So.......this weekend is devoted to my family and no one else!!! We are going to play games, watch movies, do crafts, and maybe even go sledding at St. Ann's hill. We are going to make meals together and just catch up on lost time. I am SO looking forward to this weekend!!!!!
