You know what never ceases to amaze me? Fads. Yes.....I am a victim of multiple fads. From the 80's I loved Michael Jackson and was jealous of my aunt who had a red leather coat and sequined glove, to the wild crazy hair. The 90's were full of rolled up jeans, wavy hair with BIG bangs that you curled under and then ratted the snot out of them. I was always trying to fit in and still find myself doing the same thing. Lets face it......we don't want to see ourselves on the show "What Not to Wear" now do we?
So where am I going with this post? Good question. Do any of you find that blogging is becoming just a fad that is starting to fade out? I find many blogs that I used to read that haven't been updated since November of last year and I know I have been guilty of not posting very often. A part of me is thinking about closing down my blog and printing all my posts and putting them in a book. Yet, I hate to shut something down that I enjoyed for so long. I am just finding it too hard to find time to post and upload pictures. I will let you all of you(if anyone is even still reading this) know what I decide before I just shut it down.

A thing of the past?

I have my theories... one of them is the same as what you said--the fad is passing and fading... also, I think blogger made it too easy to get stuck in a smaller circle of friends with the "followers" feature. I used to read so many other blogs before that came along.
Go figure. At least we have FB now. HAHA and FB virtual FARMING!!! I love farming... but the food fights got old for me.
That is funny because I was just talking about this with my sister. I do think it's a fad that is fading.
I'm just not feeling into posting myself either. I still enjoy reading some blogs but I'm not posting on my own.
I do think facebook has a lot to do with it- facebook is so much easier and I just enjoy it more.
for me the actual writing is what motivates me. i enjoy writing a great deal, and it's fun to have some place (whether one or 50 read it) where i can post my writing to share.
I can't bring myself to close my blog even though I don't write anymore. It was a place of therapy when I really needed it. I still love popping over and reading everyone's stuff.
You know I'm hooked on FB for now.
I'd still like to write, but life at our house consists of what we eat and who's holding the remote control. BORING!!!! Maybe someday I'll have a grandchild to write about 24-7, LOL
I have been having a hard time keeping up with my blog too! But I love reading what everyone has been up to when I get a chance and the power of prayer through blogland has been overwhelming.
Blogging is not a fad for me, Facebook is.
Like Heidi, I use my blog to keep my writing skills, such as they are, sharp. The blog is also my way of scrapbooking my life, sharing thoughts/ideas and making new friends.
I know I've written in the past that with JS entering kindergarten I'm at a loss for what to write about, but that was then. Now, I'm looking forward to seeing how my blog evolves.
Keep at it, Nickernoodle. :-D
i love blogging and I hope it isn't a fad. Especially because I think Facebook is pathetic - all those stupid applications and people telling you they are at the grocery store - seriously - are you that co-dependent, worried about stalkers, or that boring?
Don't stop blogging.
Thank you Heidi Jo for your thoughts.
