This week has been a crazy busy week! VBS (vacation bible school) started on Sunday night and we had almost DOUBLE the kids on the first night this year then what we had last year!!! Even last year we set record numbers! The theme this year is Mega Sports Camp and the preschoolers are Crocidile Dock. We start the night out by playing messy games (and they are VERY MESSY!) and then do some awesome dance worship. I am on the dance team and get to watch all these kids praising God and having a blast! Its awesome to see the whole sanctuary swaying in the same direction you are going cuz they are dancing right along with you! Then after that we split up into our groups. We have soccer, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, volleyball. The kids get to learn the sport and learn about God at the same time. Its awesome!!!! The preschoolers get to go see a video and puppet show, crafts, snack, playground time, and lesson! It goes by so fast! Tonight is the last night and we are have a SLIME TANK ready for messy games. Yep, you heard me right........we are sliming the kids tonight followed by worship, awards and a watermelon feed. It blesses my heart watching these kids get excited about Jesus. Some of them don't get that at home. I love working with these kids and we have some awesome volunteers that make this all possible. We also have a SUPER FANTASTIC children's pastor that has a true heart for the kids and it shows. She does a wonderful job and I don't think enough people tell her that. So Kristi........thank you so much for all you do for my kids and the kids of the church! You have an amazing heart and attitude toward kids and we are blessed to have you for our children's pastor. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

It sounds like a very busy but exciting week for all of you at VBS. I just love how excited you all are about your children in the church and teaching them about our God! We have so few children in our church that they don't even have a summer program anymore...SAD!!!!!! Kudos to Kristi and all the volunteers that make it possible for you to have the programs that you do!

Chris and Sohailah....thanks so much. I loved every moment of it and they showed the video along with our pastor singing a song yesterday in church and I cried the WHOLE TIME!!! I love those kids of our church and the community. They bless my heart with every smile and hug they hand out!!!
