Where do I begin? When Craig and I were fairly new parents (Brooklyn was 1) we decided we were going to seek our dream of living in the country. We moved 15 miles from town and not only found our acreage but also our second family. Their names are Roger and Jan Mohr. In the country, in South Dakota, in the middle of the winter your neighbors are all you have. We spent a lot of time with the Mohrs and Brooklyn even called Roger......Papa Mohr. It always brought a HUGE smile to his face. They would come over to swim in our pool during the summer, we had BBQ's together, even had a hi-tech search party of cell phone usage when my horse disappeared. Like I said.....they became our second family and when we decided to move back to town.....it was so hard to tell them.
Today I write this with a heavy heart. See the Mohrs had 3 children, Jacey (who was the best babysitter!!), Lance, and Riley. On April 11th Lance and Riley got into a horrible car accident and Lance did not survive. Riley was driving and for some reason crossed the center line. He is in the hospital here in town in the CCU and had to be in surgery all Sat night. He will recover physically but emotionally I worry about him. He is the sweetest boy and we always joked that he loved Brooklyn because he would always watch out for her. Riley does have a Caring Bridge site. If you go to www.caringbridge.com and under visit site type rileymohr......you can read the updates. Please pray for this family as they have a long road of physical and emotional healing ahead of them.
Thank you to all my friends out there in bloggerville.....I know what mighty people of prayer you are!!!!

Oh - prayers are on the way, for sure. I wish them all the best. It is such a hard thing to go through.
I absolutely will be praying for them. What a horrible accident. I can't imagine the guilt that poor boy is going to have to go through.
I'm glad they have such support in you!
How tragic. I will remember this family in my prayers!
Oh my gosh!
Yes, I will keep the family in my prayers.
Times like these are never easy and always full of questions. It's also a time for us as Christians to be in prayer for this family and for you. We know sees the big picture and never allows anything without pointing to Himself and to bring good from a bad (terrible) situation.
Praying for you and your friends.
Thank you for sharing this, Jenny. I am so sorry for your loss of a friend and their loss of a child. I am really sorry. I pray for healing for the surviving son and for all of their hearts. xoxox
So sad! My cousin is in Lance's class and is having a hard time too! Hard to understand the loss of someone so young.
Our local student, also 16, experienced the same type of accident on the same day. Crossed the center line due to slick roads and bald tires. Young diver (Josh) survived and passenger (Pablo) did not. I'm praying for your loved ones as I pray for ours.
Oh friend. I am so sorry and sad and will certainly pray.
Father, please send your angels to cover this family - with what they need. We are so inadequate to pray, but You are what we need and You know what they need beyond what we could even imagine. Please meet them with what they don't even know to ask for. In Jesus' name
