A couple of weeks ago we had our little cousin, Booker, come spend the night. This is a funny kid and I love him to death!!! We had choir practice so I asked Kristi if he could spend the night with the kids because I knew it would be a late night. Craig took the kids home and made a huge tent in the living room. They had popcorn and juice and were watching movies when I got home. See, the kids don't have any first cousins so we love it when the extended family allows us to borrow their kids for a night!!! He is a blast and always comes up with something really cute to talk about. I guess he was fascinated with our laundry shoot and insisted on throwing all his clothes down it too. I didn't mind at all. Afterall, laundry is a never ending thing at our house. Here are a few pictures from that night. Kristi, if you are reading this, Booker is welcomed to come spend the night any night!!!!

Trying to catch up.....
After being so busy over the weekend, I am trying to play catch up. Monday morning we were on our way out the door when Brooklyn reminded me that she was the star of the week for her class at school so we had to scurry around and find some stuff to put on display at school. Monday night she had ice skating practice at 5:30 so we decided to meet daddy at Pizza Ranch afterwards for supper. Then it was on to home to watch Dancing with the Stars. Tuesday night we had a birthday party to go to for my friend's daughter who is the same age as Cooper. It was at Tun O Fun and we had the whole place to ourselves! The kids ran and had fun. This place has all kinds of tunnels, ball pits, jumping areas, and arcade games. Its a perfect place to wear your kids out. We had pizza, juice, cake and ice cream and all the kids played really well together.
Then Tuesday night hit me like a freight train. During the night I woke up running fevers, had a huge headache, body aches, and the worst cough. Yesterday morning I called my mom to let her know I was staying home from work and told her what was wrong. Yes, I still like to call my mom when I am sick. There is just something comforting about it. She said I had the same symptoms she had when she had Influenza A. Great. I called the clinic and got tested. Thankfully it came back negative so I just went home to ride out the storm. I finally started feeling better last night about 7:30. So I am back at work today, still not feeling 100% but much better than yesterday at this time!!!! Now I need to get caught up on laundry and straightening up the house!! That is something that will always wait for you, no matter how much you ignore it. I will try to catch up with everyone this week! I just haven't been lurking in bloggerville lately! Hope you all are healthy!!!

Easter 2008

| Make a slideshow - it's easy! |
This weekend was VERY busy as I am sure it was for everyone. We started Friday night by getting the house cleaned and the kids playing in the snow. THen on Saturday we had to be to the church by 10:00 for choir/drama practice and then the shows at 2:00 and 6:00. I sang in a trio and Brooklyn played child that was raised from the dead. Craig carried her from the back of the church to the front. The first practice I had tears but did okay the rest of the time. We got out of the church at 8:00 that night. I forgot to have someone take pictures!!! Yesterday we did half of the drama performance again in church and the kids sang a song at the beginning. Cooper DID NOT want to be up there as you will see in the picture. We then went to my aunt and uncles for dinner and got home last night at 8:00 and crashed. It was a fun but very busy weekend. I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Easter!!!!

DWTS
HOLY CATS!!!!! Did any of you watch Dancing with the Stars last night? This is my all time favorite show and I never miss an episode. The best last night in my mind is Mario and Karina!!! They did a super job and had a lot of chemistry both on and off the floor. Watch out Mario Lopez, a new Mario is in town!!!! Tonight the women perform and I can't wait to see how well they do!

Basketball, fevers, and so much more....
Needless to say, this weekend was jam packed with stuff I really didn't want to do. Friday night I had to help take tickets at the State B basketball games here in town. I saw a lot of team spirit and some outfits should have been left at home. THat is all I am going to say on that. I got home Friday night and Craig and the kids were having pizza and a movie night. At about 2:00 am Cooper woke up running a 102 degree fever. We were up all night with him trying to get his fever to break.
Saturday I had choir practice again and when I got home, Cooper was still laying on the couch. Anyone that knows this kid, knows this is out of the norm for him. He is usually full of energy and very talkative! We had lunch but of course Cooper wouldn't eat. I had to go take tickets at the Home Show and then off to the store. When I returned home at 5:30, Cooper was sleeping already. He then later woke up and ate a banana finally. Saturday night we did nothing at all but relax and watch movies. Again, later that night Cooper woke up just burning up so we started the routine all over again.
He is finally feeling better today and has been fever free for over 24 hours. I am glad to have my energetic little boy back but I did love the snuggle time we got in!

What are you living for?
I recently read a blog that asked that exact question and it made me think. Life is not about how far I succeeded in my job, what car I drive, what clothes I wear, none of it matters. What matters most to me is if God is proud of me. See, I used to be one of those christians that just went through the motions, church, check, sing, check, live a good and honest life, check. I realized that was not enough. We had a speaker come to our church and asked us to come up to be prayed for our spiritual gifts. She called them out one by one and there I sat. I realized I was dead on the inside. I no longer strived to know God and just thought everyone else was doing a good enough job that I was no longer needed. I realized that I was right where the devil wanted me.
Since then I have become very active in our church and digging into Gods word more. Sure there are days that I don't pick the Bible up but I am always sure to thank God everyday for my blessings and to still thank him in times of hardship. Craig and I's life is no fairy tale. We made some poor decisions early in our marriage and are still paying for them now. We just worked through it and it made our marriage much stronger because of the trials we have been through.
So, I have decided no matter what to give God all the glory. So, what am I living for? I recently decided that I wanted to testify more to people that really need to hear about Gods love for them and prayed to God where I should start. God brought to mind the inmates we went to sing Christmas carols to here in Wtn. My friend Frank (name changed to protect identity) contacted me through myspace.com and I was friends with him in church during junior high and high school. We lost contact after graduation until now. He informed me that he is in prison right now for his 4th DUI. This is the second time he has been in prison. Although I haven't shoved God down his throat I just witness to him when I get a chance. He will be out of prison in Sept. and I am hoping that he will come to church with Craig and I. He is a wonderful person, just has made some poor choices in life. I told Frank that when he gets out, the decisions he makes will define who he becomes. He can either go back to the booze or he can choose to stay away from it. I am hoping he makes the better choice but no matter what, I will still be there to witness to him.
Sorry this got a little long but I just needed to get it off my chest.

Weekend recap
This weekend was busy but not overly busy. On Friday night we had 3 other couples over for supper from our church. We signed up to do a dinner for 8 through church and I agreed to be a host home. I love doing this kind of stuff! We had a great time, and great food. Brooklyn was invited to spend the night over at a friends house so we had just Cooper with us.
Saturday I had our choir Easter practice at 9:00 until 2:00. This time I am singing a part with just 2 other people that means I have to hold a mic! Talk about stepping out of the comfort zone!!! Brooklyn and Craig are playing a part too that I REFUSE to watch! He is going to carry her up the aisle like a dead child and she will be raised from the dead. Yep. Had tears in my eyes just during practice and could hardly sing. I don't know what my problem is! After practice Cooper was taking a nap and Brooklyn went to a different friends house to play all afternoon. SHe is a social butterfly, I know. So while Cooper slept, Craig was putting a new threshold on our backdoor and I decided to bake. We didn't do much Saturday night but watch movies and have popcorn and to bed early.
I just realized that April 4th won't work for me to get together with any of the bloggers because Brooklyn and I are skating in the ice show this year and that is the night of dress rehearsals. Could we re-schedule for the 11th? So sorry, but I forgot all about this. Let me know if that works and if anyone wants to purchase a plane ticket and fly here to mingle, you are more than welcomed!!!!!! Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
